MY TOP LIST WITH CHRISTMAS SONGS FOR THE NOT SO BEGINNER PLAYER.
I have recently read a post on a Facebook group for piano teachers, asking for Christmas songs for more advanced students or piano teachers.
At that time I realized that we, piano teachers, are always looking for easy beginner or elementary level Christmas songs for most students and we forget to check on beautiful Christmas music for us or our more advanced students.
I came up with a list of books that are definitely not suitable to beginners but certainly perfect for an advanced student or a piano teacher.
Here we are:
Christmas piano books for the advenced player
After Hours by Pam Wedgwood
I love this book, I bought it years ago and never get bored of the arrangements of Pam. Great choice for Christmas!
Christmas piano books by Mark Hayes
Two beautiful collections for the advanced player. Definitely worth it!
Solos for Christmas by Dan Coates
A collection of 50 beloved Christmas songs has been crafted to provide professional-sounding, easily prepared arrangements for busy pianists.
A great choice for the advanced player.
The Christmas Suite Collection
Beautiful intermediate and late intermediate arrangements for Holiday favorites for solo piano.
You can get the kindle edition or the paperback.
Christmas songs: Jazz piano solos series vol 25 by Brent Edstrom
21 holiday classics arranged for jazz piano.
You can also get the kindle edition.
Christmas Eve by David Lanz
Christmas piano arrangements for elementary or early intermediate students
Here is a list of my favorite Christmas song arrangements for not so advanced students but not total beginners.
They also come in kindle edition so you can get them instantly.
The variety of Christmas song arrangements is huge and piano teachers are often overwhelmed by this. They don't know what to buy and that's why some of them don't buy at all or they buy material they already have.
Choose wisely, purchase one or two books per year and your sheet music library will be priceless over the years.
