A FUN CHRISTMAS MUSIC ACTIVITY FOR CHILDREN FROM AGE 5+
We are a few days before schools close for Christmas holidays and the children are exited about the Christmas spirit that is all around us. They love all the Christmas decorations, the music, the workshops and of course the games.
During this last week of piano lessons I want to keep my students exhilarated about our lessons and that’s why I come with new Christmas activities every year. One of these activities are my favourite musograms based on Christmas songs.
They are fun, challenging and educational.
Musograms are a great and fun way to teach rhythm or melody to children of any age and at the same time they develop hand and finger control.
To read more about musograms check my post Musograms, graphic symbols for music.
I have created some Christmas musograms based on popular Christmas songs that everyone knows and enjoys listening to.

You can have Deck the Halls Musogram for your students by clicking below. I will send them straight to your inbox with a short video tutorial.
How to teach Musograms
You first give the musogram to your student(s) and start create the right movements slowly without any music.
When children know the movements well, sing with them the song while making the movements. This can be at a slow pace at the beginning and you accelerate the pace according to the student’s cabability.
When the student is ready you put the original music from a cd player or your smart phone and here you go!
When you get familiar with the musograms you may like to have my new musogram bundle Badinerie-Bach
Happy Teaching to all of you and
Merry Christmas!!
